Maintenance Supervisor

Columbus, Ohio

Wilcox Communities is seeking a qualified candidate that is interested in joining our property management team as a Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Supervisor will be accountable for all day to day turns of apartment homes, work orders, grounds upkeep, vendor interactions, overseeing and enhancing the value of the property and having excellent customer service skills.


  • High School Graduate
  • Demonstrate ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect pertinent data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and initiate appropriate course of action.
  • General Maintenance knowledge
  • Effectively convey ideas.
  • Must possess a positive attitude and the ability to smile under all circumstances.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Fair Housing laws.
  • Competence in personal computer skills a must; and Entrata software preferred but will train.
  • Must be able to participate in an On-Call rotation.
  • Present self in a neat, clean, and professional manner at all times throughout the workday and/or whenever present at the community.

Purchasing Agent

Columbus, Ohio

Wilcox Communities, one of Columbus’s premier real estate development companies, is seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent for its Central Ohio projects.   Applicants must possess 2+ years of experience in purchasing activities for building single-family or multi-family production homes.  Ideal applicants should be highly organized, have excellent communication skills, and possess a detailed knowledge of construction, trade management, and contracting.  Basic computer skills are required including Microsoft Office and experience with take-off software and/or construction management software is a plus.  As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to play a critical role in construction activities for large-scale apartment and condominium developments.  This is a demanding and exciting position for those who like to multi-task and can thrive in a fast-paced team environment.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Main point of contact for bidding and contracting all trades
  • Negotiate best possible pricing while maintaining quality of product and speed of production
  • Coordinate plan review process with production team, trade partners, and design professionals
  • Maintain trade scopes of work to ensure they match the project plans and requirements
  • Maintain bid comparison, project budget, and quantity take-off Excel spreadsheets to ensure proper costing and contracting information
  • Oversee purchasing functions in construction management software called Buildtopia
  • Coordinate between project superintendents, trade partners, and design team to ensure projects are being built accurately and efficiently
  • Execute permitting process from application submittals all the way thru receiving certificates of occupancy for each building

Corporate Controller

Columbus, Ohio

Wilcox Communities, a family business that is a fast-growing residential real estate developer, is searching for a Corporate Controller to assist the CFO in financial management of our multi-company organization. We offer a challenging position to operate in a fast-paced environment with varied software packages that include Timberline, Buildtopia, and Entrata.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Devise, implement and oversee various financial controls
  • Take the lead in the budgeting process for a multitude of entities in 2 different accounting systems
  • Manage the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
  • Oversee and assist in the preparation of monthly Financial Reporting for multiple companies including consolidated reports
  • Assist in preparation and review of year-end work papers for income tax filings for over 45 entities
  • Maintain work papers for monthly/quarterly investor reporting
  • Prepare various spreadsheets for management

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller in a multi-company/multi-division environment is required
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel is required
  • Real Estate experience is required, preferably in residential multi-family development and/or ownership and management
  • Self-driven and organized.  Ability to manage projects independently.
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities
